Noise propagation calculator for outdoor events

About this outdoor event noise calculator

This free, browser-based tool predicts how sound from an outdoor event stage travels across the surrounding area. Place one or more stages on a satellite-referenced site plan, set each stage's level at a calibration point, and the calculator estimates the sound pressure level at receiver points and across a grid noise map, in dB(A) and dB(C).

What the model accounts for

Who it is for

Festival and event producers, sound engineers and site planners who need an early estimate of off-site noise before a show: where to orient a stage, which neighbouring properties are most exposed, and what level is realistic at the mix position. Results are predictions for planning, not a substitute for on-site monitoring or a formal acoustic assessment. The workspace is built for desktop screens.

Plan the whole show in Cadence Ops

The calculator is made by Cadence Ops, the operations platform for live event production: crew, gear, logistics, compliance and finance in one place. Read the festival site map planning guide, see event production software, compare pricing or book a demo.
